Revised EVERGREEN Final

EVERGREEN
Here are my final pages for EVERGREEN, an environmentally green foundation. The changes I made were subtle, but I think they work well. I took out the previous saying I had under the logo, and decided to keep it more simple so that it wasn't taking up a huge chunk of space. I decided to make the background a bit brighter, in order to make it appear more inviting than the dark green I used previously, I also think that is what contributed to the corporate feel of the website. I also changed the font from white to a mint green color. I added in a simple leaf to make a logo for EVERGREEN. I also scaled down the photographs a bit, so that they didn't appear too symmetrical next to the text boxes, as I felt that was another reason it appeared too corporate. For the merchandise page, I added in a unisex t-shirt, and I also added in prices for the items, as well as a little note saying where the proceeds will go.

Revised Sketches for EVERGREEN
I am posting my revised sketch ideas for my environmentally green business EVERGREEN in a separate blog post just to keep it more organized. I have decided to keep it a bit more organized than my previous sketches, and go with a simple green background for each page, with text inserted next to some images. I followed prof. Hiuni's suggestion, and put a black box to go behind the text, so it wasn't just there on top of nothing. I also decided to go with a merchandise page, instead of an FAQ one. However, I definitely need suggestions on how to spruce that page up. So far, it has two products that I created using customink.com - a reusable bag and a water bottle. I liked the idea of these, because both are reusable instead of using plastic/paper bags and plastic water bottles. I want to add in a price amount for those, as well as something mentioning where the profits will go. Should I add in more merchandise like a different type of bag, or T-shirts, or just keep it at the two products that are there? If there is anything else I should fix, please let me know!

Sketches for Evergreen Website
Hey guys, I decided to go with the environmentally green business for this project. I named my business Evergreen, and have decided to use my own photographs for this project. I have four ideas for each page, and would love feedback on what ones to use in order to make sure they all look like they're from the same site! I made the images a bit small, so they don't take up so much room, but they will be bigger for the final look. I'm unsure of what I am writing on the FAQ page so far, and am actually considering changing that to a merchandise page, but let me know what you think. If I did the merchandise page, it would probably not have a photograph (or a really basic one) as a background, so it wouldn't distract from the merch. Also, if I did that, I would design some stuff like shirts and such for the sake of the project.

Empire X, Ghost Empire, and Zombie Empire
Hey guys! Here are my three logo's, they are really very simple, but I think that works the best for them. I decided to go with three slightly different shades of red, as well as keeping Empire in all the titles to ensure that the viewer knows they are from the same company. The font is something that I had debated on for a while, I originally wanted to go with one that looked like blood dripping from the letters with the red color, but decided I liked this one better. For the O's in both Ghost and Zombie, I decided to replace them with images to make them pop a bit. Ghost Empire consists of 100 different levels with the player having to solve how the ghost was killed, and to help them move on into the afterlife. Zombie Empire is a bit different in that it only consists of 50 levels, and the player has to kill zombie's in order to make it to the next round. However, each level, the number of zombie's goes up. So at level one, there is only one zombie. While at level fifty - the hardest level - there are fifty zombies that the player needs to kill before the zombie's catch them.

Logo Design Sketches
I decided to go with two horror themed games, as I am an avid horror fan. I have written plots for the games as well, but I will wait to share those when I have the finished design. I want to keep the Empire logo simple, but for the GHOST and ZOMBIE ones, I would like to add in an image with each one. I also would really like some feedback on if I should keep the logos in black, or have a different color for each one. So far, I like the squiggly font, as well as the bold one.

Artist Statement
Art is something that I have always been passionate about.
As a child, I was always drawing/coloring, or trying to find new ways to be
creative. In 2012, I found my niche within the art community – photography. I believe that photography is my niche because it is something I am really good at. I have always received compliments on my pictures, which is what inspired me to keep going. I
started taking pictures whenever I would go someplace, or I would have my
sister pose for me. I kept going, and am now working towards a goal of owning a
photography business. My main goal with my photography is to make myself and
others feel. I want my photographs to bring about some type of feeling to the
person viewing it, whether it be nostalgia, joy, or something else entirely.
When I am preparing for a shoot, whether it be landscapes or
people portraits, I like to gather some inspiration instead of jumping right
in. If I am doing landscapes, I like to research the place a bit before I go
just to get the layout of the area, as well as to learn the history of the
place. When I am doing portraits, I make sure to communicate with the person(s)
beforehand to make sure we’re on the same page with what we want out of the
shoot. I also like to make sure to have them decide what type of shoot they
want to do. For example, if they want to use props, or where they want their
photographs taken location wise. My favorite type of photography is digital, although I have dabbled a bit with using a darkroom. I prefer digital, however, because it can be hard to find a darkroom and the chemicals needed if you don't have those easily accessible to you.
Currently, I am working on pushing myself out of my comfort
zone. I used to be really shy when taking photographs. If there was a lot of
people at a place where I was wanting to do landscape, it would make me freeze
up and not want to take the photographs anymore. I was also really shy with
doing portraits. I started out taking portraits of my sister, and her and I both
noticed that I wouldn’t give direction. I would just snap away and hope she
knew how I wanted her to pose. However, when I started taking photographs of
other people, I had to correct that. It is something that I have gotten a lot
better with. This past weekend, I really pushed myself and did a shoot for my
cousin. This shoot was different than anything I had ever done before, as it
was a breastfeeding shoot. It was an amazing experience, and I am so glad I got
to push myself enough to capture that special moment between my cousin and her
baby. I hope that in the future, I can continue to thrive and am successful when
it comes to my goals.
