Here is my last upload for the final project. I changed the text to cursive. I also tried to center the images a bit more.

Comic Book
Here is what I have come up with so far. I used a picture of sand I took at a beach for the background. I might change the leaf for the final post.

Stage 2
Here are the initial sketches for my comic book. My title is a work in progress - I am not sure if I like it. I am also thinking about revising the story, I don't know if it makes enough sense or not.
So far, this is what I have for the cover. It definitely still needs a lot of work. I need to put some dots on the butterfly but I am not sure if I want them like I had them drawn. I also need to decide what to do in the background. I think I want to have the same background for each page, but need help deciding what to do there. I am also considering doing the cover words in cursive and adding a smaller version of the butterfly up there with it.
Again, this is a very rough idea of how I want the leaf and the caterpillar to look. I want them to be very abstract, hence why the caterpillar is purple instead of a more realistic caterpillar color. I'm not sure if this is what a "storyboard" consists of, but it's what I have so far. It definitely needs to be spruced up quite a bit for the final project.Sunday, November 20, 2016
Final Project Sketches
Here are my preliminary sketches for the final project. Unfortunately, this is the project I have been dreading since I first read the syllabus, and the only one I have worried about failing on. I have never done anything with flash animation, so it is really intimidating. So far (this could definitely change into something entirely different by the end) I have been thinking about doing a metamorphosis type thing and relating it to how I have grown with my work as an aspiring photographer. I started out like the caterpillar, and grew into the butterfly. I want to use yellow and light purple (like a lilac shade) because those are my favorite colors. I'm not sure if I am going to make this into a little comic book with captions, or if it's going to be a continuous video. Like I mentioned, this could completely change by the end into something else, although I hope I can make this idea work.

ZEISS Photographs
Here are the photographs that I will be submitting to the ZEISS competition. I straightened the images out, as well as changed them to black and white. I really love black and white photography because I feel that it gives the images a timeless feel. I love the way these look, especially the last three. The competition calls for photographs from a meaningful place. I took these at Hicks Orchard in Granville, NY - a place I have gone every year since I was little.

ZEISS Potential Photographs
I decided that for the competition, I am going to enter 5 photographs. However, I am going to post 8 in here and would like advice on which photographs I should choose to submit. The editing that I am going to do on these is to straighten them out a bit, and I also am considering doing solely black and white photographs. The theme is meaningful places, I chose to do photographs from solely one place that is meaningful to me - Hicks Orchard in Granville, NY. This place is meaningful to me because I have a lot of memories from going here every year growing up with family. We would usually always go with my Nana and Papa, and my Aunt and Uncle. It was always a lot of fun, and definitely something to look forward to each year. These photographs are from out trip there last year - which I made sure to check was acceptable for the project. As long as they were done from January 2012 up to February 2017, they are acceptable.

Revised EVERGREEN Final

EVERGREEN
Here are my final pages for EVERGREEN, an environmentally green foundation. The changes I made were subtle, but I think they work well. I took out the previous saying I had under the logo, and decided to keep it more simple so that it wasn't taking up a huge chunk of space. I decided to make the background a bit brighter, in order to make it appear more inviting than the dark green I used previously, I also think that is what contributed to the corporate feel of the website. I also changed the font from white to a mint green color. I added in a simple leaf to make a logo for EVERGREEN. I also scaled down the photographs a bit, so that they didn't appear too symmetrical next to the text boxes, as I felt that was another reason it appeared too corporate. For the merchandise page, I added in a unisex t-shirt, and I also added in prices for the items, as well as a little note saying where the proceeds will go.

Revised Sketches for EVERGREEN
I am posting my revised sketch ideas for my environmentally green business EVERGREEN in a separate blog post just to keep it more organized. I have decided to keep it a bit more organized than my previous sketches, and go with a simple green background for each page, with text inserted next to some images. I followed prof. Hiuni's suggestion, and put a black box to go behind the text, so it wasn't just there on top of nothing. I also decided to go with a merchandise page, instead of an FAQ one. However, I definitely need suggestions on how to spruce that page up. So far, it has two products that I created using customink.com - a reusable bag and a water bottle. I liked the idea of these, because both are reusable instead of using plastic/paper bags and plastic water bottles. I want to add in a price amount for those, as well as something mentioning where the profits will go. Should I add in more merchandise like a different type of bag, or T-shirts, or just keep it at the two products that are there? If there is anything else I should fix, please let me know!
